In order to subscribe to any Broadband service you must have a BT line and your local telephone exchange must be Broadband Enabled - this means that BT must have upgraded it to be compatible with Broadband technology.
Additionally there are certain other restrictions. For example your home or office must not be located too far away from the exchange, your telephone line must be of good quality, and you must not have any incompatible equipment on the line (including line sharing equipment, some types of payphone, and some types of RedCare burglar alarm signaling equipment).
Finally, depending on the distance between your home or office to your local exchange and the quality of your line, in some cases it may not be possible to subscribe to our faster Broadband products. For example it may not be possible for you to subscribe to a Broadband service featuring download speeds faster than 512Kb/s or 1Mb/s.

Please note: Once you place an order with us, BT will perform a detailed compatibility test on your line on our behalf. In some cases this additional test may uncover problems or limitations that the our basic availability check was not able to detect. You will be informed as quickly as possible in such cases.
