Featuring business-grade contention ratios of 20:1, our Business Broadband packages can offer better performance than standard Broadband offerings, especially in multi-user networked environments.
But don't worry if you don't think 2GB is enough for your needs. If you like you can choose to include extra GBs of transfer to your account when you sign up - it costs just £1.02 + VAT (£1.20 inc VAT) per extra GB per month. And if you find you exceed your expectations you can always add more transfer as and when you need to: Should you ever reach your included monthly transfer limit you'll see a web page asking you if you'd like to purchase more transfer*, again at just £1.02 + VAT (£1.20 inc VAT) per GB per month, and if you do so you'll be able to continue surfing as normal. Please note that included or additional transfer is offered in multiples of 2GB only and must be used in the current subscription month - unused amounts cannot be rolled over to the next month. Included data transfer amounts will be on a pro-rata basis for your first month's subscription - based on the day of the month you sign up on.
Our Pay As You Go Business Broadband packages feature a business-grade 20:1 contention ratios for improved performance compared to home user packages. Please note that as with all conventional (non-MAX) Broadband packages, upload speeds for all Pay As You Go Broadband options are limited to a maximum of 256Kb/s regardless of the download speed.

Modems and routers: You can't use your old dial-up modem or ISDN adapter to connect to the Internet with a broadband connection. Instead you need to use a special Broadband modem or Broadband router. Some ISPs give away a very basic low-cost Broadband modem when you sign up for their services. This is great, but the specification may not be what you require, or it may not allow you to connect a network to your broadband connection. And because they give the modem away, and sometimes line activation too, they tend to tie you in to a long contract whether you like it or not. We don't think this is a good idea: Because every customer is unique and has different
needs, we feel that you should be able to choose the type of modem or router that is best for you. So, instead of giving away a basic modem and making you sign a long contract, we allow you to choose from a range of Broadband routers and even WiFi routers, and we have a minimum contract period of just three months. Please click here for additional information on modems and routers.
Microfilters: One or more microfilters are usually included as standard with most Broadband modems and routers, but depending on your telephone wiring you may need to order extra ones. Microfilters, or splitters, must be plugged into all telephone sockets that are in use on your Broadband-enabled telephone line. If you don't do so your Broadband connection will be unreliable, or may not work at all.
STATIC (PUBLIC) IP ADDRESSES: For customers who require them, we can provide between 1 and 15 usable static IP addresses for your broadband connection. These are necessary if you want to run your own webserver or mailserver, or for many types of VPN connection.
BONDED BROADBAND: New - You can now link more than one Unmetered Broadband line together to form a connection that runs at the sum of the speeds of the linked lines. Please click here for more information on this option.
You can order a Broadband modem or router, one or more microfilters, and opt for public static and routed IP addresses when you sign up for your broadband package. Descriptions and prices of each model of modem and router are shown on the hardware selection page during the signup process. But please note that you are also free to purchase a Broadband modem or router from anywhere - you don't have to buy it from us. You must ensure it is compatible with UK broadband services, however, so be very careful when purchasing from non-UK sources.
