Getting a Domain Name is easy!

A Domain Name is the bit that goes after the www in a web site address and the bit that goes after the @ in an email address. For example, Cymru 1's domain name is cymru1.net.

Anyone can register just about any domain name as long as it hasn't already been registered by someone else. You should, however, avoid the use of domain names that are registered trademarks unless you actually own the trademark yourself.

As well as .net, you also have the option of a domain name ending with .com, .org, .info and many other choices too.

Registering a domain name involves paying a fee for the right to use the domain name for a certain period. Once that period is up, you have to pay addition fees to extend your right to use the domain. Domain registration with Cymru 1 costs around £8.51 per year - as much as half the price of domain registration with other companies!
