* The rental price and any setup charges and call/divert charges depend on the Service Plan (feature set), Options, Price Plan (tariff) and divert destination you choose. The features available on a number depend on the Service Plan and Options you choose
When we use the term Landline, we mean a conventional telephone line accessed via a conventional geographic number.
This specifically includes all numbers starting with 01 and 02, and specifically excludes non-geographic numbers.
** Many telephone service providers (e.g. BT) offer telephone service calling plans (tariffs) that include certain types of calls as part of the service rental price. Calls to most 0870 and some 0845 numbers are often part of such inclusive tariffs, and can therefore be made at no additional cost to the caller.
Not all service providers include 0870 numbers in such tariffs and some tariffs (e.g. those aimed at business rather than domestic customers) do not offer inclusive rates at all.
Our 0870 numbers are available in your choice of four different call-handling Service Plans:
Each Service Plan offers a different range of features and facilities but all allow Mobile and International Diverts. Please click on one of the tabs below for more information on each Plan and the applicable rental, setup and divert prices.
The dmConnect Service Plan is designed simply to divert to a single destination number of your choice, though this can be an International or a Mobile number, or even a VoIP PBX/switchboard (via SIP or IAX2).
With the dmConnect Service Plan, simplicity is the order of the day. This Plan only allows you to directly divert your dmNumber to a single destination number, though this can be easily set
and instantly changed via an online control panel, and diverts to mobiles and International destinations are possible. No Voicemail is provided as standard, nor is it an optional extra, but you can configure your number to directly divert to the optional dmAnswers 24/7 live human receptionist answering service.
Divert via SIP / IAX2 VoIP Trunk: dmConnect is the only Service Plan that allows you to divert incoming calls over the internet to a SIP or or IAX2-compatible VoIP PBX or switch, such as an Asterisk, TrixBox or VoIPNow! server (with automatic fall-back diversion to a conventional phone number if required).
Please note that diverting using a VoIP trunk is an advanced feature and requires you to have a reasonable understanding of TCP/IP, network, firewall and professional VoIP technology (it is not Skype-compatible). It also requires that you understand how to install, use and configure your VoIP PBX or switch software. Reliability and voice quality will depend on the quality, speed, latency and configuration of your internet connection and network, over which we have no control.

ppm = Pence Per Minute call charge (or amount of revenue generation if negative)
cnct = Call Connection Charge, which applies to all calls irrespective of length (no Call Connection Charge applies if none shown)
UK Geo = UK Geographic numbers (e.g. Normal landline numbers, such as those starting 01 and 02)
Total =0.0ppm (Free Destinations) = Total number of destinations that are free to divert to (but do not generate revenue).
Total <0.0 (Revenue Generating) = Total number of destinations where revenue will be generated.
Important Notes:
Revenue generation:
Revenue Generation is not possible with 0870 Numbers.
Instead of just being able to divert to one destination number, the dmVoice Service Plan allows you to configure up to four different numbers that can be set up as a hunt group. You can also set things up so that different numbers are automatically diverted to out of office hours. Voicemail is provided as standard.
With dmVoice, you can pre-program up to two "home" divert numbers, two "Work" divert numbers, two "Mobile" divert numbers and one "Other" divert number, though "Home", "Work", "Mobile" and "Other" are just labels -- you can use any type of telephone number, mobile, landline or international, for any of them.
Using your control panel, with a click of your mouse you can instantly configure your dmNumber to directly divert to any of these numbers, or directly to the standard voicemail facility if you don't want to be disturbed at all. Your control panel also allows you to change the pre-programmed divert numbers easily and instantly.
Hunt group features:
The real power of the dmVoice Service Plan is in its "program" or hunt group mode. When you enable this, your number will "hunt" for someone to answer
an incoming call by automatically calling up to four of your pre-programmed divert numbers, as follows:
When someone calls your number during working hours (which are permanently configured as being from 8:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and cannot be changed) it will try calling the first of your two "Mobile" numbers (remember that these numbers can be landline or international numbers - they don't actually have to be mobile numbers).
If there is no answer or the line is engaged or even if whoever answers the call rejects it then our system will automatically try the second "Mobile" number (A call can be rejected, without the caller knowing, very easily - your number can be configured to automatically play a recorded message saying "Press # to accept the call" when a call is answered - but before the caller is put through. If you hang up, or do nothing, the call is rejected).
If at this stage there is still no answer our system will go on to try the first of the two "Work" numbers, and then the second. Finally, the call will be diverted to voicemail if absolutely nobody can answer the call at all (voicemail can also be completely disabled if you wish).
Outside working hours dmVoice will automatically substitute the two "Home" numbers for the two "Work" numbers, allowing you additional flexibility and making sure callers can reach you whenever possible, no matter where you might be.
Of course you can leave one or more "Work", "Home" or "Mobile" numbers blank if you only need two or three number hunting, or no hunting at all, and you can effectively disable the Work/Home number substitution by simply entering the same telephone numbers for "Home" and "Work".
Voicemail:
Any message that is left for you on voicemail is sent to you as an email containing a recording of the message which you can play back on your PC. You can also call a special control number using an ordinary phone to pick up messages when you are away from your desk, just like you can with more conventional voicemail.
The control number also allows you to record your own voicemail greeting message over the phone, but you also have the option of recording it on your PC and then upload to our system using your online control panel.
For a more personal and professional touch, you may want to consider our dmAnswers 24/7 live human receptionist option instead of using voicemail.

Total <0.0 (Revenue Generating) = Total number of destinations where revenue will be generated.
Important Notes:
Revenue generation:
Revenue Generation is not possible with 0870 Numbers.
The most sophisticated plan when it comes to features and facilities, as its name suggests the dmSwitchboard Service Plan allows you to configure your dmNumber to act as a multi-line virtual switchboard, without having to invest in any extra lines or equipment.
In this extremely powerful Plan, when a caller rings your dmNumber, they will be greeted with your own
personal greeting message, and then asked to choose from various options by pressing keys on their telephone keypad - with all options configured and chosen by you. For example, your greeting message might be something like "Thank you for calling Cymru 1 Limited. Please press 1 for Sales, 2 for Accounts, 3 for Customer Relations....."
Depending on the option the caller chooses, their call will then be diverted to a either a single telephone number or to a hunt group of different numbers of your choosing (for example numbers for different members of a sales team located in different parts of the country or indeed of the world). Different individual numbers or hunt group numbers can be configured for each "department" that you have configured for the caller to choose from.
When the call is transferred to any of these numbers, the person answering the call will be told which of your dmNumbers was called and also the "department" the caller chose (these will be spoken by our computer in the form of a name you can define for your dmNumber, for example "freephone" and the name of the department, for example "sales"). They can then accept the call by pressing # or reject it by hanging up or doing nothing. If the call is rejected then the next person in the hunt group will be tried if more than one number has been configured.
Of course voicemail is always on hand to take the call if no-one is available to take a call. And, if you wish, you can set automatic opening and closing times, with callers automatically being diverted to voicemail when your office is closed. Or, for a small additional monthly fee, you can have calls you can't answer yourself diverted to our optional dmAnswers service, a live human receptionist/answering service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Announce-only departments: As well as normal departments consisting of different telephone numbers to divert the call to, you can also define "information" departments. When the caller presses a number key on their telephone corresponding to one of these types of department, they will hear a set of recorded information messages which you can record yourself. In this way, you can provide callers with information on your opening hours, directions to your office or shop, details of special offers and so on, all without ever answering the phone.
Record your own greetings and announcements: You can choose to record all the greetings and announcements that callers will hear when they call your dmNumber, or you can opt to use our automated and surprisingly realistic text to speech synthesizer to do all the work for you.
If you want to record the greetings and announcements yourself, all you have to do is make the recordings on your computer, and upload them to our systems via your control panel, or alternatively record the greetings over the phone, without the use of a computer, by calling the special control number.
Using the text-to-speech synthesizer is even easier than recording your greetings and announcements. All that's required for this is for you to login to your control panel and type in the words you want used - these will then be automatically converted to speech when someone calls your number..
Hold and Transfer: Just like a real switchboard and phone system, once you answer a call you can put the caller on hold (at which point they will hear some music), and even transfer a call to another destination ( a process known as a "Mid call transfer").
Mid Call Transfer is an extremely useful feature, allowing you to speak to the person you are transferring the call to before putting the caller through - by doing so you can inform them of who is calling and why. As you might expect, additional per minute call charges do apply when transferring calls like this. These are the same as the normal divert prices for 0207 dmNumbers and like all divert charges depend on the Price Plan and divert destination you choose.

When a number is configured to use the dmFax Service Plan, your dmNumber acts as a fax machine so that any faxes sent to your number will automatically be converted to a PDF document (or one of several other formats if you wish), and sent to you by email.

When you select the dmFAX Service Plan your dmNumber will always act as a dedicated fax number - dmFAX cannot automatically differentiate between a voice call and a fax call.
Through your control panel you can select which email address you want the converted fax to be sent to, and which format you would like the fax to be converted to (PDF, TIFF, PCX, DCX). In general we recommend that you select the PDF option, as this allows greater flexibility when it comes to faxes with multiple pages.
Up to 30 incoming faxes can be received at once on a dmNumber set up to use the dmFax Service Plan so your "fax lines" should rarely be engaged unless huge numbers of people all send you faxes at once.
Fax Spillover:
When your number is configured with the dmFAX Service Plan, you will find that as well as being able to specify an email address for the converted fax to be set to, it is also possible to set divert destination numbers via your online control panel, in much the same way as you can with the dmVoice Service Plan. By entering your existing physical fax number or numbers here, dmFAX will act as a spillover fax line, allowing your normal fax machine to accept the majority of your faxes, and with dmFAX only accepting the fax when your fax machine is busy.

We offer three different Price Plans (tariffs) for 0870 numbers on the dmFax Service Plan, Base, Pro and Enterprise.
The default Base Price Plan will be suitable for most customers. We do not recommend using dmFAX with the Pro or Enterprise tariffs unless you intend to make use of the Spillover option mentioned above and the destination number is more cost-effective to divert to on the Pro or Enterprise Plans.
The pence per minute cost when dmFAX directly answers an incoming fax call (no fax spillover) and sends the fax to your email mailbox will be the rate shown in the "Mailbox/IVR" row.
The pence per minute cost (or revenue generated) when dmFAX diverts to your real fax machine (spillover mode in use) will depend on the divert destination (e.g. UK Geo) - please see the appropriate row in the price table below or in the full price list.

Although the voicemail facilities provided as standard in the dmVoice and dmSwitchboard Service Plans works very well, sometimes it is best to always have a real person answer calls for you when you can't. This is where the optional dmAnswers facility comes in.
dmAnswers is a 24/7 Live Human Receptionist service that you can divert your calls to when you can't answer. The receptionist will answer the call with your choice of greeting, and take the caller's name, telephone number and a short message. This information will then be sent to you by SMS to your mobile and/or by email to your mailbox.
dmAnswers costs just £19.95 + VAT per month (paid 3 months in advance), plus a £1.25 + VAT cost per call answered (15 calls per month are included free but you must have pre-paid credit in your account to cover any additional calls answered).
Even more information on dmAnswers can be found on our dedicated dmAnswers 24/7 Live Human Receptionist page
The dmAnswers service can only be added to your account after you have signed up for a dmNumber. You will find a link that allows you to do so in your dmNumber control panel.
When you begin the online signup process for a dmNumber, you will be presented with a wide range of different numbers for you to choose from. When making your selection, if you wish, you can choose a Gold number for an additional one-off fee.
There is no functional difference between an ordinary number and a Gold number. However, Gold numbers do contain repeated, sequential, mirrored or relatively rare (e.g. 000, 111, 123, 321123, 424242 etc) combinations of digits, making them more easily remembered or more likely to stand out from the crowd, and are an essential option for competitive markets.
Prices for Gold numbers vary between £25 and £20,000:- you'll see the Gold fee, if any, listed clearly alongside the number itself when selecting your number. Please note that all Gold fees you see exclude VAT, which will be added and clearly shown in the payment summary page that you will see at the end of the number selection process.
Ofcom:
0870 numbers, like all telephone numbers, come under the auspices of an organisation known as Ofcom. From time to time, Ofcom may impose certain changes on the telecommunications industry in order to maintain fair competition within the industry and a fair deal for consumers. You can find out more about Ofcom by visiting the Ofcom website.
In some cases the changes imposed by Ofcom may significantly change the way in which numbers work or are charged for. For example, Ofcom recently imposed a significant change on the way that 0870 numbers work, resulting in companies using 0870 as contact numbers for their business being charged for incoming calls, where previously they may have generated a revenue or have been free. Ofcom also recently forced telecommunications providers, such as BT, to automatically play a warning message indicating the costs that might apply, when a caller rang a number in the 070 Personal Number range.
If Ofcom or any other regulatory body makes further changes in the future, we reserve the right to change the way in which we charge you for your number, or even to withdraw certain number types completely. Such significant changes are usually well publicised in the press at least six months before they are implemented, however, and we will inform you of any significant changes we may have to make as a result as much in advance of them being implemented as possible.
Please call us on 0870 950 4101 for further details
