Payments for dmNumbers and associated services can be made by PayPal, Nochex, Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Solo and some other forms of credit and debit card, and also by cheque, Western Union and direct bank transfer. Simply select the payment method you wish to use at the end of the signup process. This includes cheque payments -- you'll be given instructions on where to send the cheque and what reference number to put on the rear of the cheque (or in a covering letter).
Payments for all dmNumber services must be made in advance. You will be asked to pay the applicable setup charge, any additional charges for Gold numbers you choose, and either 6 months or one year's rental charge (depending on the number type) when you sign up for a dmNumber. Similar advance payments are required for other products where a monthly rental or service charge applies.
You may defer payment for up to seven days after creating a dmNumber account in order to explore the features and facilities offered before you pay for anything. However, until a payment has been made, although your numbers will be reserved and can be configured, they will not accept incoming calls. dmNumbers will be returned to the general pool for other customers to use if no payment is received within 7 days.
If you wish to divert incoming calls to International or mobile number destinations and the type of dmNumber you have chosen does not include diversions to the intended destination for free, you must have some pre-paid call credit on your account in order to cover the extra costs associated with these divert options (see below). You must also have pre-paid credit in order to cover incoming call costs on 0845, 0800 and 0207 numbers if the included free monthly minutes provided with your numbers are not sufficient for your needs.
Paying for diverting to destinations that are not free to divert to, and paying for receiving calls on 0800, 0845 and 0207 numbers:
Payments for diverting your dmNumber to destinations that are not free to divert to must be made in advance by adding call credit to your account, a bit like you do with a Pre Pay (Pay As You Go) mobile phone. Similarly you must also add call credit to your account to pay in advance for the cost of receiving calls on 0800, 0845 and 0207 numbers (please see our Price List page for details). Call credit for paying for non-free diversions, or for receiving calls on 0800, 0845 and 0207 numbers, is known on our systems as "Pre Payment".
When you sign up for a dmNumber, a suggested Pre Payment amount of £20 will automatically be added on the payment summary page and if you are happy with this amount of call credit it will automatically be added to your initial bill and your account will be credited with the appropriate amount when you pay. However, the suggested amount of £20 is completely optional and you can change it to £0 or any other amount if you wish. To do so, simply click on the "Pre Payment" link you'll see on the final payment summary page when you sign up, and change the amount as required. But note that if you change it to a zero amount you may be unable to divert to mobile or international destinations unless you later add pre-paid credit to your account, and you will not be able to receive calls on 0800, 0845 or 0207 numbers beyond any free minutes that are included with your number.
You can check how much Pre Payment call credit you have on your account at any time via the online dmNumber Control Panel (known as your Clubhouse) which you will be given access to once you sign up, and can top it up at any time using any of the normal payment methods. However, you will be notified by email if your pre pay call credit is running low, and If you wish you can set up an automatic top-up option to ensure that your incoming calls always get through to their destination.
Please note that any "Pre Payment" call credit you add (either when you sign up or when you top up at a later stage) applies to your account as a whole not per number, so if you have more than one dmNumber in your account then there is no need to worry about adding call credits for each one individually.
Activation of dmNumbers and options where payments are made by credit or debit card or by PayPal is usually instant, but it takes around 4 working hours to process and approve your payment (including any Pre Payment amounts) and therefore it will take around 4 working hours before you can make full use of your number or service. You will be informed by email of the progress of your order and the processing of your payment. Activation of dmNumber options and services that do no incur charges is normally instant.
Activation of dmNumbers and options not paid for by credit card, debit card or PayPal may be slightly delayed - up to three working days when paying by direct bank transfer, and between 1 and 3 working days from the date the funds clear when paying by cheque, for example. Pre Payment call credits:
It usually takes about 4 working hours for any Pre Payment call credit you add to your account to be processed. A small call credit "loan" is usually immediately added to your account when you add new or additional Pre Payment call credit in order to keep you going while the payment is processed, however.
The prices listed on this page and on our website in general all exclude VAT (sales tax). VAT will be added and clearly shown on all purchases at a rate of 17.5% on the payment summary pages when you sign up or add additional products and services to your account.
However, at our discretion, we may credit your account with the amount of VAT you paid if you are a company based in an EU country other than the UK or are based outside the UK and EU. This offer is at our discretion and proof of your company VAT ID and/or company location are provided to us. Please contact us BEFORE you sign up and we will consider your request.
If you do not like your dmNumber(s) for any reason, you can have all your money back, providing the following conditions are met:
1) You have incurred usage charges of less than £5
(if you have more then we will deduct the usage from the refund).
2) You paid within 7 days of ordering
3) You notify us of your desire for a refund within 14 days of ordering the product
This guarantee does not diminish or over-ride any other rights that you have under UK commercial law, and any credit card law/terms of service.
Some of the dmNumber NGN options (such as 07005 numbers) involve no monthly rental fees. The Free For Life policy covers these numbers as follows
Numbers are in high demand, and a significant percentage of people are ordering numbers and then not using them ever, or stopping using them after a while. Part of the problem is caused by the fact that the numbers are free, and as a result people will acquire them without thinking, and may not value them particularly highly even though they offer extremely sophisticated telecoms facilities. There is only a finite quantity of phone numbers, and having unused or number-squatted numbers, causes inconvenience to all phone users, as national numbering schemes have to be reorganised, and phone numbers get longer.
In order to prevent your free number from being removed from your account it must be used for a minimum of 10 seconds within 7 days of signup, and for at least 30 seconds per calendar month.
If you do not do so and we notify you by email that your number is subject to removal, you have several options to remedy the situation:
i. Use the number: Put at least 30 seconds of connected usage (to voicemail or a live call), in the next 2 weeks from notice.
ii. Reserve the number: If you have a particular future use for a currently unused number you may reserve it. There will be a small charge for this.
iii. Explain exceptional circumstances.
In addition, a minimum usage policy of 200/100 minutes per month applies when using 070058/070059 dmNumbers in dmSwitchboard mode (only). If this is not reached, at our discretion you may be asked to start paying a £5 per month rental charge unless you switch to dmVoice or dmFax mode, or increase the usage on your number.
Please note that number changes enforced by telecommunications operators and regulators do happen from time to time, and when such changes are implemented we will have no option but to change your number accordingly.
Responsible Use:
All dmNumbers and services must be used responsibly, morally, and within all applicable UK and International laws and any guidelines or requirements set out by UK telecommunications regulators or watchdogs. Failure to do so will result in the termination of your dmNumber account without refund.
Any number used for the commission of any form of fraud or other criminal activity will be terminated without refund.
Any mention of any dmNumber in any form of unsolicited bulk email (spam) will result in the instant termination of the number without refund.
Cymru 1's decision with regards to any use that falls under these requirements is final.
Neither Cymru 1 Limited nor any of its employees, directors, affiliates, officers, contractors or other representatives will be liable for any losses or damages that might arise from but not limited to events including but not limited to : 1) The termination of any dmNumbers or services by Cymru 1 Limited and 2) The termination, suspension, enforced shutdown or other limitation(s) that might be imposed on a dmNumber or account by a UK law enforcement agency, official body or regulatory body.

This is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) direct, indirect compensatory or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties.
For the avoidance of doubt, Cymru 1 Limited does not limit its liability for death or personal injury to the extent only that it arises as a result of the negligence of Cymru 1 Limited, its affiliates, directors, employees or other representatives.
Number Reservation:
K & D rate personal numbers (07005x)) have a minimum usage to support their allocation. See our Free For Life policy for further details on this. Under this policy, we may recycle unused numbers for other to use. However, some customers would like to have the security of reserving the numbers even if they do not use them. There is a quarterly (every 3 months) fee per number of £2.50 + VAT for this. This charge is non-refundable.
Price changes
Changes to the charges that callers pay to call the various type of dmNumber do happen from time to time. Such changes are not within our control.
Changes to incoming call charges, divert charges, rental charges and so on also happen from time to time and we will endeavour to inform all users of any applicable changes which might affect their account as soon as practical.
070xx Numbers
Please be aware that from September the 1st 2007 all callers to 070xx numbers costing 20p or more to call will automatically be played a recorded message at the start of the call explaining that they have called a Personal Number and giving them an indication of the cost of the call.
